Part 2 Request to Chancellor

‘We call on the Chancellor to state the following simple truths in a government statement:

The continued existence of human civilization is extremely endangered by the climate catastrophe.

The CO₂ content in the air is far too high (420 ppm). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change shows a path (SSP1-1.9 “1,5°C path”) that gives humanity the best chance of survival.

This path has a target value of 350 ppm (by the year 2150). This means there are already hundreds of gigatons too much CO₂ in the air.

We have to radically change course now, even if it is years late.’
